Jade Well

In addition to the more well-known oolongs, the Wuyi Mountains are home to some rare and unique tea varieties. One of these is the Jade Well cultivar, named after a cliff in the Wuyi Mountains where the tea plants are grown. This area offers a distinctive microclimate: fertile soil naturally aerated by falling rocks, and tea bushes that benefit from frequent mist.

The charcoal roasting process adds a subtle roasted aroma to the leaves, with notes of cherry leaf, berry preserves, apricot pit, spices, and seeds. The infusion is light in color, but the taste is full-bodied: a smooth plum-like quality mingles with the astringency of chocolate and fresh berries.
