Ling Tou Dang Cong

This oolong, known as "Honey Orchid Aroma," is produced in the small village of Lintou, located in the Jiaoping County. Tea has been cultivated here for over 300 years. While the village is situated in Guangdong province, it lies near the border with Fujian, not in Fenghuangshan. This location is one of the reasons why this oolong can't be fully classified as a traditional Dan Cong, as it has its own distinct production methods and cultivation processes. In terms of both tree preservation and production techniques, this tea can be compared to Shigupin, which also grows in the region.

The tea undergoes strong fermentation and multiple rounds of intense roasting. The traditional processing methods here differ from the modern techniques used for Dan Cong tea in Fenghuangshan. The tea is roasted over bamboo charcoal, which imparts a signature roasted aroma and depth of flavor. The fragrance has a sweet floral base, which transitions into a delicate, vibrant, and full-bodied taste profile.
