This oolong comes from one of the oldest villages, Shiguping, where the She people have been cultivating tea for over 400 years. The village and its tea gardens are located on the southwestern slopes of the Daiyunshan mountain range, which stretches from Fujian to Guangdong, about 7 km from Fenghuang city. This distance from well-known tea regions makes this oolong distinct, not easily classified under the familiar Dan Cong category – it is a unique tea with its own characteristics.
Why did we choose it for our collection? The answer is because it offers a rare opportunity to taste tea as it was made centuries ago. The area is home to many old tea trees, not the typical terraced plantations with trimmed bushes, but actual trees, from which the leaves are hand-picked. Traditional methods are still in use here: the leaves undergo strong fermentation and multiple rounds of roasting, always over charcoal. Due to the region's relative obscurity, the tea remains in a more accessible price range, despite its traditional methods.
One of the key features of this tea is its ability to withstand multiple infusions while maintaining a smooth, harmonious flavor throughout. The careful roasting enhances its delicate balance, revealing a soft, yet rich structure and a sweet, floral aroma that lingers with every sip.
