Song Zhong Dan Cong is very old tea tree variety which has been cultivated in the Fenghuangshan mountains of Guangdong province. Also known as the "Song Bush," this tea traces its origins back to the Song Dynasty. According to legend, it comes from a mother tree, Mu Shu, from which cuttings were later taken to preserve the unique characteristics of this variety. One of the oldest cultivated tea varieties in Fenghuangshan, Song Zhong Dan Cong has been carefully maintained and passed down through generations.

The dry leaves are large, deep burgundy-brown with a subtle purple sheen. The aroma carries a hint of rowan berry tartness, balanced by a natural sweetness. When warmed, the leaves reveal a gentle, baked-sweet fragrance. The infusion remains a rich buckwheat-golden hue across multiple steeps. The chahai and piala retain a lasting floral-woody aftertaste.

The flavor is full-bodied and complex, blending the sweetness of ripe red berries with pastry-like notes. The finish is smooth and silky, leaving no dryness — gliding effortlessly down the throat.
